Why Egypt

A flagship Fulbright destination

Egypt hosts the oldest and largest Fulbright program in the Arab world — a community of nearly 8,000 Egyptian and U.S. Fulbrighters built over more than seven decades.

  • Oldest & largest in the Arab world. Established in 1949, with deep institutional roots across the region.
  • A rich research environment. Unmatched access to archaeology, Arabic and Islamic studies, public health, the arts and the sciences.
  • Binational support. The Commission provides on-the-ground guidance, host-institution coordination and cultural immersion throughout your grant.
